Meeting Recap
Meeting Recap

Are you interested in seeing exactly what a MOPS meeting is like?  Did you have a sick child and have to miss the last meeting, but wonder what happened?  Here is the place to look for a brief recap of what happened at previous meetings.

THURSDAY, Feb. 3rd:  "I Simply Can't Understand You!"  We had a men's panel and heard from a mom who became the stepmom of 3 boys (and a girl in addition to her own daughter).  We had another silly skit/song--Sleepless Nights (taken from "Summer Nights" from Grease) and did a Valentine's themed craft.

THURSDAY, Jan. 20th:  "Simply Imperfect" was our theme, and we had a lot of fun laughing about our shortcomings and uniqueness.  We heard from one of our own MOPS moms about her non-conventional family and played a fun game.

THURSDAY, Dec. 16th:  Our children performed, some of our own talented moms performed, we heard from a former MOPS mom about the specialness of this Christmas for their family, and we made some holiday crafts.

THURSDAY, Dec. 2nd:  We had our first annual MOPS Boutique and also heard about parenting from one of our Mentor Moms.

THURSDAY, Nov. 18th:  Simply Abide...Don't Worry, Be Happy!

We had a performance of Don't Worry, Be Happy--MOPS style and did Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes.  We heard about Handling Anxiety and Depression from one of our own MOPS moms.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 4th:  Simply Delicious

We watched a video of some of our own MOPS moms in their kitchens and handed out lots of kitchen-themed doorprizes.  We then headed into the Fireside Room for Cooking Demos.  Recipes and pictures will be posted on the blog.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 21st:  Celebrating 20 Years of FCF MOPS

We celebrated like it was 1990--the year MOPS first started at FCF.  Many of us dressed in 1990 style clothing and we had a surprise performance from Vanilla Ice.  We then had a panel discussion with 5 of the founding members of FCF MOPS.

THURSDAY, OCT. 7th:  Redifining Simple

We did a magnet craft and heard from a speaker, Kelsey Mercer, about how to simplify our lives at home.

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 30th:  Seminar Day

Because this was a "fifth Thursday" we met informally and had 3 speakers to choose from.  One was "Raising Ugly Ducklings to Become Beautiful Swans," another was "The Early Bird Gets the Cheap Worm," and the last was "Sweet Little Baby Birdies."

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 16th:  First MOPS Meeting of the Year

We had fun meeting our tables and enjoyed a skit called "Rockin' Robin."  We heard from our coordinators about this year's theme.  We made nametags and discussed upcoming events.
