Q. What does it cost to join MOPS?
A. There is an annual membership fee of $100, which can be paid all at once or in a payment of $50 each semester. This will give you a discount compared to paying for each meeting individually. If you want to pay per meeting, the fee is $6/meeting plus a one-time $25 registration fee. Full and partial scholarships are available for those in need, so please feel free to ask us about those; in return, you will be asked to help once with childcare on an off-week (for leadership meetings).
Please feel free to visit before making a decision to join...visitors are always welcome!
Membership benefits include:
- International MOPS membership
- Subscription to MomSense magazine
- "Life on Planet Mom" by Lisa T. Bergren
- Weekly Mom E-mail
- Local MOPS meetings and events (includes door prizes, crafts, game nights, and more)
- Free childcare during MOPS meetings
Q. Is MOPS a "Christian" organization? Do I need to be a Christian/ go to church to attend?
A. While MOPS International is a non-denominational, Christian organization, and our local leadership team is made up of Christians, we welcome diverse ladies of all faith or non-faith backgrounds and beliefs.
Q. What age should my child/children be for me to be involved in MOPS?
A. If you have any children in the newborn to kindergarten age range, or you are expecting, then MOPS is for you! When you no longer have children in this range, then you officially "graduate" from MOPS.
Q. Can I keep my children with me during meetings?
A. Children younger than 9 months may stay with you during meetings, if you desire. However, we do request that you be sensitive to others in the group, and take your baby out if s/he gets noisy. Because the purpose of MOPS is mom-to-mom interaction and encouragement, children older than 9 months need to be put in childcare. We have an excellent "Moppets" program and nursery, staffed by caring, experienced workers. If you ever have any concerns about your child or the program, we are always happy to talk with you.
